Animation Documentary

In class today. we watched a documentary which discovered animation the early days up until modern day (2003). It looked at the development of animation and the pioneers of the genre, some of it focused on the early days of Disney and how the animation 'Steamboat Willie' was the first big step into Walt Disney's career and how it fascinated audiences. This then lead on to animations such as 'Snow White' and 'Bambi'. The documentary later focused on computer animation and how back in the 1980s, one of the animator's of what would be 'Pixar', suggested the idea of animations being done digitally and the idea of things being 3D which was originally rejected with him being told if computer animation was 'cheap' and 'simple', then they would consider it. However, later on with films such as 'Toy Story' and 'Finding Nemo' which grossed millions at the box office. Animation using Plasticine was also looked at, an exampke being 'Wallace and Gromit'.
