'Most Shocking Second A Day Video' -(Click this link to watch)
This video is by 'Save The Children' and highlights how a girl is living a happy and normal life until its suddenly turned upside down by the events of war and terrorism.
This video is impactful to me because it shows the effect of war on innocent children and how their lives could be changed so quickly and have their childhood ripped away from them. This especially has an impact on me because I was first shown this video in high school and it reminded me how lucky I am to live a safe , happy life but also highlighted to me how this could happen to anyone , anywhere.
The blowing out of candles at the beginning and end of the video shows a massive contrast between a normal life at the beginning and a war-torn, distruct life at the end. It also highlights how much can change in so little as a year.
The quote at the end of the video:'Just because it isn't happening here doesn't mean it isn't happening' impacts me because it shows how people easily forget and pretend like its not happening, all because its happening at the other side of the world, but what they also forget is that it is happening to real people. This is going on whilst we are privellidged to live a safe, normal life.
